From biking to boating, there is so much to do in the Lost Sierra!

Swimming

Plumas County offers more than a thousand creeks, rivers, and lakes. One of them is right here at Wild Plumas- Wolf Creek offers several swimming holes and beaches just a short walk from the campsites.

One of our favorite property activities is a creek hike! Creek hikes are a simple and wonderful way to spend the day, simply slip on some water shoes and pack a few snacks. Wild Plumas borders hundreds of acres of National Forest- start walking up the creek and you will encounter a secret swimming hole at every corner. OR just place a lawn chair in the creek- pick a shady spot and bring a book, it’s the best.

Outside of Wild Plumas, we love nearby Lake Almanor for water sports (9 miles) and Round Valley Lake for walking, biking, and fishing. A little further away, you’ll love the Lakes Basin and the Bucks Lake Wilderness. Ask us for a map to our favorite swimming holes!

Hiking

Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park (1-hour drive) is top on our list for hiking.

Drive to the Bucks Lake Wilderness (highly recommend Gold Lake!) for hiking, swimming, boating, or a lovely place to picnic. This is about an hour from Wild Plumas.
